Description:
A process in which fabric has an unsaturated polyester resin powder binder applied to one or both sides of the fabric. The quantity of powder applied is tailored to the customers exact requirements. Can also be used to aid hand-lay up applications.
Applications:
Primarily powder bonding is used to facilitate rapid preform assembly of components for RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding). Powder bonding is frequently used to improve a fabrics properties, in particular fray-resistance and mechanical stability. This technology is widely used in the aerospace, automotive and marine industries.
Options:
The quantity of applied powder can be acurately adjusted. Typically this is between 0.1% and 10% of the fabric weight. Powder can be applied to one or both sides of the fabric. We have two powders available - a course grain and a fine-grain powder. We welcome customer sourced powders. We can apply powder binder to fabrics between 20mm and 1350mm wide.
